Biography

Stephanie Huntington serves as the Director of the Office of Student Learning (previously Academic Support & Retention) and has been a part of the team since January 2019. In her role, Stephanie supports the team in creating opportunities for students to experience positive learning environments and find academic success at Iowa. She oversees centralized academic support programs that are grounded in evidence-based learning practices, including the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program in the Academic Resource Center (ARC), the Peer Led Undergraduate Study (PLUS) course, and the Learning Assistants (LA) program, as well as other academic resources for students, such as Tutor Iowa and Academic Success Workshops.

Prior to her role in the Office of Student Learning/AS&R at the University of Iowa, Stephanie has supported students in their transition to college through work in academic support programing and admissions at a handful of 4-year public institutions. Stephanie earned her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication Studies with minors in Business Administration and Human Relations from the University of Iowa. Additionally, Stephanie received her Master of Science degree in College Student Personnel from Western Illinois University. 

Outside of work, you’ll find Stephanie loving life with her husband, son, and dog. She enjoys spending time outdoors, participating in group fitness classes, and being in good company with friends.
