Biography

Mary Catherine serves as a Coordinator in the Office of Student Learning. In her role, she works with the Supplemental Instruction (SI) and Peer Led Undergraduate Study (PLUS) programs that are established to support undergraduate students in traditionally challenging courses. In addition, she oversees the Academic Success Workshops which cover a variety of topics including general study skills, resiliency, and time management. Mary Catherine is passionate about creating supportive learning experiences that help students feel empowered, successful, and connected to their university community.

Prior to joining the team, Mary Catherine worked in the Office of Admissions creating and supporting admissions pathways for First Generation, TRiO, under resourced, and military connected students. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Justice from the University of Iowa.  

Mary Catherine is a proud hometown Hawkeye. Outside of work you will find her baking, reading, crocheting, running, and best of all with her field golden retriever, Margo. If you have a favorite cookbook or recipe, Mary Catherine would love to know!
